Bill Kling Listens to You

Not every elected official listens to the people, but Councilman Kling does. He holds monthly drop-in public office hours, and conducts annual postcard issue surveys. Bill answers phone calls and emails and frequently attends neighborhood association meetings throughout the district.

Bill believes our city employees are the backbone of our city. They keep us safe, keep our roads paved, our neighborhoods clean and so much more. That is why Bill works to take care of them.

  • Initiated budget discussions that lead to a 3% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase this year
  • Worked with others to get the Tier1/Tier2 option passed
  • Worked to get the Sick Leave payment upon retirement increased from 25%-50%
  • Worked to get Firefighters 25-year retirement with no minimum age requirement
  • Has supported every COLA during his time on city council
  • Sponsored Firefighter Reclassification Study in previous administration
